Disney has removed the previously-announced Rogue Squadron movie from its release calendar. The news came in a scheduling update sent to media today, which also included release updates for 10 other movies in the company’s pipeline.
Rogue Squadron was originally announced on Disney Investor day back in 2020, and was targeting a December 2023 release. The movie was set to be directed by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. Since then, however, the project has been subject to production delays, and in May, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said the film had been “pushed off to the side for the moment”.
As of today, however, the Star Wars spinoff appears to have been pushed off a cliff. Disney has not officially announced Rogue Squadron‘s cancelation, but it’s safe to say it would be coming out any time soon, if ever.
