I know I complain a lot about Hasbro lately, but their latest offering has even the company’s staunchest supporters up in arms.
On Tuesday, the company revealed a new 2-pack featuring two previously released (and peg warming) figures: NED-B and Purge Trooper. Neither character has ever appeared on screen together, but whatever. The figures are also “carbonized,” which makes them appear as if they were in the direct path of a particularly explosive unicorn fart…although it’s hard to tell by the promotional pictures.

NED-B originally cost $33.99 while this version of the Purge Trooper was a Walmart Exclusive priced at $27.99. You’d think that the poor sales on NED-B (and the Purge Trooper depending on your area) would make Hasbro consider lowering the price for a two-pack — especially considering how recently these figures were released.
Instead, the beleaguered toymaker dunked both figures in unicorn fart dust and somehow convinced Amazon to carry the 2-pack as a $75 exclusive, adding nearly $13 to the combined price.
I seriously want to know who is planning to buy this. If you are, please say so in the comments (and/or seek medical attention). Good news if this applies to you, though — Hasbro has already lifted its moratorium on preorders and made this one available with an expected arrival in September.
In the meantime, you can buy a non-carbonized version of NED-B on Amazon for the clearance price of $22.04…and falling.
