Skybound and Universal have announced their next movie monster comic series via THR, Creature from the Black Lagoon. Written by Dan Watters and Ram V, the series is drawn by Matthew Roberts with colors by Dave Stewart and is due out in comic shops on April 24th.
The four-issue series follows the excellent Dracula series by James Tynion and Martin Simmonds.
It’s not an adaptation of the famous black and white monster film, but one that introduces new characters such as journalist Kate Marsden and serial killer Darwin Collier. They will, however, bring back Dr. Edwin Thompson, a scientist who was injured by the gill man.
So what’s Creature from the Black Lagoon about?
The story sees journalist Marsden hunt a notorious serial killer in the heart of the Amazon. Hot on the trail of this madman, she soon encounters an unexpected new threat – the Creature from the Black Lagoon – and must determine if he is friend or foe.
