DC is inviting Batman fans to spend an afternoon in Gotham tomorrow with a special livestream dedicated to its upcoming Batman: Bad Seeds event.
Streaming on the DC YouTube channel on June 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. PT, the presentation promises a steady stream of reveals tied to the publisher’s ambitious Gotham-wide crossover launching later this summer.
According to DC, viewers can expect new artwork, title announcements, and creator messages throughout the three-hour broadcast. Fresh reveals will arrive every few minutes as the publisher continues to build anticipation for the event.
Fans tuning in will also have opportunities to win prizes, including signed comics, variant covers, and an original drawing by a mystery Batman artist whose identity DC is keeping secret for now.
The livestream serves as the latest step in promoting Batman: Bad Seeds, the 10-week crossover that will reshape Gotham City beginning in August.
The storyline is spearheaded by Matt Fraction and G. Willow Wilson and centers on Poison Ivy launching a devastating eco-terror attack that transforms Gotham into a prehistoric nightmare over the course of a single night.
As Ivy’s influence spreads across the city, giant vines overtake skyscrapers, carnivorous plants infest the streets, and entire sections of Gotham revert to a more primal state. The Bat-Family finds itself scattered throughout the city as residents struggle to survive and the GCPD deals with growing instability under Commissioner Vandal Savage.
The event will extend through multiple titles, including Batman, Poison Ivy, Detective Comics, Batgirl, Batwoman, Catwoman, Nightwing, and Harley Quinn.
The story officially begins on August 26 with Poison Ivy #47 from Wilson and artist Leandro Fernandez, setting the stage for the chaos to come.
For fans eager to learn more about Gotham’s next major crisis, tomorrow’s livestream looks set to provide the first wave of answers.
Tune in and see what blooms in Gotham.
