Christian Ward concludes his ‘Event Horizon’ trilogy with ‘Pandemonium’ this December

The final chapter of Christian Ward’s acclaimed Event Horizon saga takes readers deeper into the Chaos Realm with artist Hernán González, promising to change the horror classic forever.

The nightmare is almost complete.

IDW Publishing has announced Event Horizon: Pandemonium, the final chapter in Christian Ward’s ambitious trilogy expanding the universe of the 1997 cult horror film. Launching this December through IDW Dark, the new series teams Ward with horror artist Hernán González (John Carpenter’s Tales for a Halloween Night) for what promises to be the franchise’s most terrifying installment yet.

Following the prequel Event Horizon: Dark Descent and the currently running sequel Event Horizon: Inferno, Pandemonium reunites familiar faces while pushing the series further into the mysterious Chaos Realm, where Ward says the trilogy has been heading from the very beginning.

“It’s been such a huge honor to have been trusted with this beloved property that means so much to so many, myself included,” Ward said. “When I was first invited by IDW editor Nicolas Niño to pitch my take on Event Horizon, I ended up proposing far more than Dark Descent. I pitched a trilogy that would take even wilder swings and make fans look at the 1997 film in a completely different way, and Pandemonium was always the end goal.”

Ward added that he and González are taking readers “even deeper into the Chaos Realm,” teasing that “Event Horizon will never be the same again. All roads have been leading us here… to Heaven!”

For González, the project is a chance to embrace everything he loves about horror comics.

“I’ve been drawing comics for several years and have always loved the horror genre,” González said. “I feel truly honored to bring to life everything I love through my drawings: monsters, modern machinery, especially from the ’90s, complex page layouts, and, above all, the darkness of the soul.”

Event Horizon: Pandemonium is scheduled to hit comic shops this December, with final order cutoff set for October 19.
