‘X-Men ’97’ trailer breaks Marvel record

The X-Men ’97 trailer has been viewed more times than any Marvel animated property, including What If…? and Star Wars.

In a recent Hollywood Reporter article on the state of Marvel Studios, it was revealed that the X-Men ’97 trailer is the most watched trailer of all their animated properties.  This includes What If…? and all Star Wars animated shows.

This comes alongside the news that Deadpool & Wolverine is the most watched movie trailer of all time, and solid proof that Marvel Studios is still very much in the game.  Amid fan backlash and conservative “anti-woke” agenda, The X-Men continue to be one of Marvel’s most beloved set of characters and remain to this day the number one best-selling comic book of all time with X-Men #1 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee.

Showrunner Beau DeMayo has confirmed in interviews that the series will directly continue after the finale of X-Men: The Animated Series, and he has already dropped major hints about Mister Sinister being a main villain, plus Cable will have a huge arch in the series.  This news paired with toy reveals of the Goblin Queen is sure to spell a Summers Family soap opera, which we know fans always eat up.

In a quote with Entertainment Weekly, he was asked his overall thesis for the new animated show and his reply was, “The key thing I came to with this series was how, ultimately, you can take all the philosophy of Xavier’s dream, but if you just boil it down, empathy is the way into the future.”

X-Men ’97 premieres on March 20th, only on Disney+.
