IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is having a hot year with record-breaking sales, and now it’s soon to start a second story arc with issue #6. Joining series writer Jason Aaron is Juan Ferreyra, who will be drawing the six issues of the series.
So what’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6 about?
Superstar artist Juan Ferreyra (Batman & Robin, Green Arrow) makes his debut as TMNT’s new ongoing artist! The Turtles are back together, on the run, and at one another’s throats. Navigating a New York City that used to be their home but is now a hostile territory, the four brothers try to get things back to normal, but Donatello is deeply scarred following his captivity. Will the four brothers be able to rally? Or will they find themselves at the mercy of the Foot Clan?
Comics critics were privy to an advance look at the issue, set to debut on January 29th (with FOC on December 9), and it’s quite clear it’s an excellent jumping-on point issue. I was one of those lucky reviewers and had this to say about the issue:
TMNT #6 is nothing short of amazing. Just read an advance copy and Juan packs so much punch, dynamic art, and emotion into every page. @jason-aaron.bsky.social perfectly captures the complexity of arguing brothers in a chaotic time. A great jumping on point [email protected]

But don’t just take it from me, read on to see the reactions of a ton of comics critics below! Comics criticism is an important but very often underlooked field. Consider following these fine reviewers to give them your support!
Had the chance to take an advance look at #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles 6 thanks to @idwpublishing.bsky.social – not only is @jason-aaron.bsky.social continuing to turn out some emotionally resonant TMNT stories but it looks amazing thanks to Juan Ferrerya. Pre-order it Monday!

Had a chance to read @idwpublishing.bsky.social TMNT #6 before the FOC on Monday, and in a shocking turn of events, this title is STILL excellent, issue after issue. There's real danger for the main characters, and Juan Ferreyra's art is propulsive throughout the ish. Great stuff, do not miss it.
