Upper Deck launches Superman-themed NASCAR trading cards in new 23XI Racing collab

Upper Deck teams up with 23XI Racing and DC to launch a Superman-themed NASCAR trading card set just in time for the hero’s big-screen return.

Upper Deck is revving up the excitement for this summer’s release of Superman with a new crossover project uniting the worlds of NASCAR and superhero entertainment. In partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, the trading card giant has announced its first-ever licensed card set for 23XI Racing, centered around a Superman-themed race car. This isn’t the first collab between the two companies. Check out what they announced in 2024.

The new collection debuts just ahead of DC Studios’ Superman film, directed by James Gunn and hitting theaters July 11. The set also marks an expansion of Upper Deck’s ongoing relationship with 23XI Racing, which began in 2024.

The spotlight of the collection is the “Superman” x 23XI car, which will debut on the track June 28 at the NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway near Atlanta. Driven by Tyler Reddick in the No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE, the race will be the first 2025 Cup Series event to air on TNT.

Collectors can grab the first wave of cards featuring the Superman car now on Upper Deck e-Pack®, the company’s online platform. A second drop will go live on race day.

Steve Lauletta, President of 23XI Racing, added, “Our goal at 23XI is always to raise the bar and connect with fans in creative ways, including how they collect and engage with our drivers. Through our relationship with Upper Deck, we continue to deliver unique experiences that fans can cherish forever.”

“We’re constantly exploring new ways fans can enjoy and collect their favorite athletes and characters, and what better way to kick off the summer of ‘Superman’ than with an exciting crossover that marries the DC cinematic universe with the world of NASCAR,” said Upper Deck President Jason Masherah. “We continue to expand our footprint in the sports collectibles industry, bringing different sports to the forefront with innovative collecting experiences that fans and collectors can’t find anywhere else. I can’t wait to see how Superman and racing fans react to these first trading cards with the 23XI collectible license in conjunction with NASCAR.”

More trading cards from the 23XI Racing and NASCAR universe are expected to follow. For details, visit UpperDeckEpack.com.
