Image Comics, in collaboration with Tiny Onion, is set to launch Everything Dead & Dying, a new five-issue miniseries blending horror and western elements, from acclaimed creators Tate Brombal (Batgirl, House of Slaughter) and Jacob Phillips (That Texas Blood, Newburn). The series debuts September 3, 2025.
Described as The Last of Us meets Yellowstone, the story follows Jack Chandler, a lone survivor who’s chosen to coexist with the undead—including his husband and adopted daughter—rather than destroy them. But when outsiders arrive in his secluded farming town, Jack is forced to defend the only family he has left.
Brombal, making his Image Comics debut, calls the book “an ode to everything that came before—and everything that refuses to die,” adding that the story had been simmering in his mind since 2020. Phillips, delivering his first new series since The Enfield Gang Massacre, promises “a biting tale full of brains and guts” with “plenty of blood, sweat, and tears.”
The series will feature variant covers by Phillips, plus artwork from top talents like Joshua Hixson, Sean Phillips, and a surprise guest artist on a stealth variant. Everything Dead & Dying #1 will also be available digitally via Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
