Marvel’s next big cosmic saga is heating up! IMPERIAL, a four-part event series from writer Jonathan Hickman and artists Iban Coello and Federico Vicentini, is setting the stage for a bold new era of spacefaring adventures in the Marvel Universe. The second issue came out just this week! Today, fans got a look at the cover for the final issue, which arrives in October.
The series launches with a wave of assassinations that spark a massive intergalactic war, paving the way for a new lineup of space-based stories. Following IMPERIAL, Marvel will release five tie-in one-shots under the banner of IMPERIAL WAR: Black Panther, Planet She-Hulk, Exiles, Nova: Centurion, and Imperial Guardians. The newly revealed cover features key players like Hulk, Nova, Shuri, Star-Lord, and Super-Skrull—and hints at the arrival of a mysterious faction yet to step into the fray.

Fans can check out Marco Checchetto’s main cover and a variant by Jeehyung Lee now, and preorder all the IMPERIAL titles at their local comic shop. More details—including spinoff series announcements—will drop at the “Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing” panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 25.
