To the Twin Cities, my X-Men! Mutants from around the world descended on Minneapolis, Minnesota for the 3rd annual Uncanny Experience. Dubbed “Summer School,” the event took place July 12-13th, and the mansion was heated up with love for the X-Men. Immersive rooms sprung to life, mysteries challenged the curious, and classrooms were filled with eager minds wanting to dissect every aspect of the lore.

Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the animated series X-MEN: EVOLUTION, the event featured special guests Maggie Blue O’Hara (Kitty Pryde), Meghan Black (Rogue), and Steven E. Gordon (animation director/character designer). Tyler Mane, who portrayed Sabretooth in the 2000 X-MEN film and DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE was also present to mark the 25th Anniversary of the live action film. Creatives of X-MEN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Eric & Julia Lewald alongside director Larry Houston and voice actress Catherine Disher (Jean Grey) gave a deep dive into the character of Jean in the series as a the heart and soul of the team. Comic creators Benjamin Percy (Wolverine, X-Force) and Ashley Allen (Magik) were onhand to discuss their work in the industry, and iconic comic scribe Gail Simone returned to The Uncanny Experience to lead the emotionally charged Graduation Ceremony where she gave a commencement speech citing “she’d rather be an X-Man”.

Once classes were over, attendees were treated to an epic After Party where the Student Hall was transformed into a Krakoan Forest. Party-goers arrived with their own red carpet and entered through a Krakoan Gate to enjoy drinks at the Green Lagoon and dance to incredible mixes by DJ Neon Horror, topped off with an unbeatable drag show featuring D’Manda Martini, Aurora Veil, Dean Demonic, and Lala Luzious.
