DC Black Label is bringing together three of its most iconic vigilantes, Batman, Green Arrow, and the Question, for a gritty new four-issue miniseries titled Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia. Written and illustrated by Gabriel Hardman, the series kicks off on November 26, 2025, and promises a tense, morally complex narrative packed with espionage, political intrigue, and personal reckoning.
Set against a backdrop of global crisis and social unrest, Arcadia blends high-stakes thriller with grounded character drama. The story follows Bruce Wayne as he partners with a billionaire environmentalist to investigate Arcadia, a floating city being built off the coast of Greenland. At first glance, Arcadia looks like a solution to the climate crisis. But when Green Arrow and the Question dig deeper, they uncover troubling secrets beneath the surface.
Hardman, whose work draws inspiration from the socially conscious thrillers of the 1980s, updates these characters for a world facing open class warfare and ecological collapse. He’s joined by colorist Romulo Fajardo Jr. and letterer Simon Bowland to bring this modern noir vision to life.
“This is a dream project,” says Hardman. “I’ve wanted to put these three characters together since I was a teenager. I’m building on the legacy of creators like Denny O’Neil, Denys Cowan, and Mike Grell—but I’m not looking backward. This is a fresh, forward-looking take on these complex, opinionated heroes facing 21st-century challenges.”
The story follows multiple threads: Vic Sage (the Question) goes undercover in the Arctic while investigating a human trafficking ring; Oliver Queen, having been ousted from Queen Industries, discovers his company may be linked to the Arcadia project; and Batman, caught between allies and enemies, questions the true purpose of the floating city. The three vigilantes don’t always see eye to eye—and their clashing philosophies could be just as dangerous as the enemies they face.
Expect moody visuals, sharp dialogue, and a psychological edge as the series dives deep into questions of justice, power, and personal responsibility. What happens when institutions fail? Who stands up when morality is twisted for profit?
Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia #1 features a main cover by Hardman, plus variant covers from Kevin Nowlan and the legendary duo Denys Cowan & Bill Sienkiewicz. Cowan and Sienkiewicz’s variant, based on their 1988 “Fables” crossover poster, is being released as a comic cover for the first time—available in both cardstock and foil editions.
Issue #1 arrives November 26 with a mature readers label and a $5.99 cover price ($7.99 for the foil variant). The full miniseries will be collected in a hardcover edition set to release June 16, 2026, for $24.99.
