A brand-new DC villain makes her debut this fall in Wonder Woman #25, an oversized anniversary issue from writer Tom King and artist Daniel Sampere, on sale September 17.
After navigating a strange, mouse-infested world, Diana finally tracks down the missing Etta Candy and fugitive Amazon Emilie. But what she discovers is far more dangerous: a tiny harbinger of death whose arrival will alter Wonder Woman’s destiny, and herald the rise of the Matriarch.
This milestone issue not only marks the first appearance of the Matriarch but also sets the stage for the future of all Wonder Woman stories. Fans can also get a first look at Sampere’s striking character design for the new villain on his recently revealed open-to-order variant cover.

In addition to the main story, Wonder Woman #25 will ship with open-to-order cardstock variants by Mark Spears, Homare, and Tran Nguyen (1:25), a blank sketch variant, a foil cover by David Nakayama, and a seasonal “Pumpkin Spicy” variant by Yasmine Putri.
