DC and Realm used NYCC’s Jim Lee & Friends panel to supercharge their new audio line, announcing a dozen more chapters of DC High Volume: Batman—hot on the heels of Batman: Dark Victory. Biggest headline: longtime Bat-voice Troy Baker will play The Joker in the show’s adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke.
Billed as DC’s “cinematic audio” take on classic comics, the podcast launched earlier this year with a four-part Batman: Year One. Next up, weekly drops resume every Wednesday, starting with Batman: Ego (a two-parter on Oct 29 and Nov 5). The schedule continues with:
-
Batman: The Gauntlet (Dick Grayson’s first mission as Robin) – Nov 12
-
Nightwing: Year One (six parts; Dick claims a new name and suit) – begins Nov 19
-
Batman: The Killing Joke (two parts) – Dec 31 & Jan 7
-
Oracle: Year One (Batman: Chronicles #5; first-ever adaptation) – Jan 14, following Barbara Gordon’s transformation into Oracle
New cast additions include Will Friedle as Nightwing/Dick Grayson, Troy Baker as The Joker (Killing Joke), Shelby Young as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon, Chester Rushing as Superman, and Stephanie Koenig as Lois Lane, alongside Holland Roden, Danny Nucci, Eric Lange, Keith Szarabajka, Stephanie Sheh, and Richard Epcar. Returning voices include Jason Spisak (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Jay Paulson (Commissioner Gordon), Reba Buhr (Catwoman/Selina Kyle), Adam O’Byrne (Harvey Dent/Two-Face), Simon Vance (Alfred), Dan Gill (The Joker), Jesse Burch (Riddler), and Kevin Smith (Penguin).
