Best comics of the week: November 20, 2025

#5: DC/Marvel: Batman/Deadpool #1

‘DC/Marvel: Batman/Deadpool’ #1 is a meta-soaked celebration

Batman/Deadpool #1 is a deliriously fun, meta-soaked celebration of comics themselves — a collision of worlds that’s as wild and ambitious as fans could hope for. Morrison and Mora craft a story bursting with energy and imagination, while the backups make it a full-blown event worthy of “collab of the decade.”

#4: The Ultimates #18

In ‘The Ultimates’ #18, Tony Stark rallies the resistance against The Maker

While we do not yet know the outcome of The Ultimates taking the fight to The Maker inUltimate Endgame, Tony’s rallying cry encouraging the people to rise up against The Maker and his council strikes an optimistic tone and makes you believe in his cause, and confident that Earth 616-10 can succeed in deposing The Maker if they all stand united against his authoritarian regime. Not only will Earth 616-10 be liberated from The Maker’s corrupt rule, but she will be avenged as well.

#3: Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #45

‘Batman/Superman: World’s Finest’ #45 review: Luthor and Joker’s excellent adventure

The issue ends on a fantastic, unexpected cliffhanger that guarantees you’ll be counting the minutes until next issue. Amazingly, even after all the years of Luthor and Joker stories, the story feels fresh and I can’t wait to see how Bruce and Clark resolve this one.

#2: News From the Fallout #6

‘News From The Fallout’ #6 finds light in seemingly endless darkness

Even though it’s the last issue, News From The Fallout #6 keeps the same mix of abstract art and atomic-fueled horror until the very end, while also painting a story of finding light in the darkest hours. It’s been unlike any comic I’ve ever read, but that’s why it stands out, and why you need to check out the whole story.

#1: Nightwing #132

‘Nightwing’ #132 doesn’t pull any punches

Frankly, this is one of the best Nightwing issues I have ever read. The cliffhanger is masterfully delivered and feels all too shocking for the reader, as it goes against the core of Nightwing. And isn’t that what Zanni and Colombina have been embodying? Seeing how they take the inverse of values of Dick Grayson and force them upon the people of Blüdhaven feels like a truly evil blow against Nightwing, creating a story that feels once in a lifetime. For some readers, it may have seemed impossible for Watters to deliver a story more enthralling than the previous threat Nightwing faced off against, but this issue cements the idea that the battle Dick is about to have with Zanni is sure to have long-lasting ripple effects on the title. This is an excellent issue that doesn’t pull any punches.
