Vault has revealed Nectar, a chilling new horror series from #1 Audible and New York Times bestselling author Jeremy Robinson. Written by Robinson and illustrated by Annapaola Martello and Francesco Francini, with colors by Steve Canon, letters by Jim Campbell, and design by Tim Daniel, the series promises a supernatural nightmare where terror arrives on delicate wings.
Set on a remote island village off the coast of Salem, Massachusetts, Nectar centers on the sudden arrival of an eerie new species of butterflies. These beautiful invaders carry the infamous Dancing Plague—and harbor a gruesome craving for a very specific kind of nectar: human blood.
“When my wife, Hilaree, and I started spitballing story concepts, all I knew was that I wanted to create a new Victorian monster to rival Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster and Werewolves,” said Robinson. “Our twisted imaginations went to work, and just minutes later, we had blood sucking butterflies and the dancing plague wrapped together, along with the title: Nectar. I loved the idea so much, I started writing the script the next day.
“A month later, script complete, we signed on an amazing artist tag team—Annapaola Martello and Francesco Francini,” continued Robinson. “Every page they delivered was amazing, and then our colorist, Steve Canon, metamorphosed the black and white pages into something brilliant and beautiful to look at, butterflies and blood-soaked corpses alike! It’s rare to work on a project that is inspired from beginning to end. Nectar is one of those unique experiences that comes along just a few times in a creator’s career.”
Robinson is the acclaimed author of nearly 100 novels published across fourteen languages, including Infinite, The Others, and the Good Boys trilogy. Known for blending science fiction, horror, and action, his work has reached millions of readers worldwide. A television adaptation of his cult-favorite novel Project Nemesis is currently in development with director Chad Stahelski (John Wick 1–4), produced by Original Film and Sony Pictures Television.
He also recently launched Breakneck Comics, his graphic novel imprint dedicated to bold, bizarre, and visually striking stories, with plans to release three projects per year alongside his prolific prose output.
Nectar #1 arrives in comic shops on March 4, 2026, and will debut with an impressive slate of variant covers from top-tier talent, including Chris Shehan, Jason Shawn Alexander, Maan House, Danny Luckert, Jonathan Wayshak, Suspiria, Jeremy Robinson, and more. Readers can pre-order the series now through their local comic book store.
