‘Top Chef’ season 23 Power Rankings: Week 3

Emeril Lagasse pays a visit to Top Chef this week.

Top Chef keeps on rolling as the contestants prepare for a new series of North Carolina associated challenges. Some hoped to keep their momentum going while others wanted to turn their season around and improve upon their previous results.

The chefs welcomed the iconic Emeril Lagasse into the kitchen. He would serve as guest judge alongside host Kristen Kish in the quickfire. One of the area’s comfort foods is livermush. The competitors were tasked with providing some positive PR for the ingredient by creating an elevated dish that made liver mush the star. For one person that made some culinary magic, they would win the challenge and $10,000.

Afterwards, the show moved on to the next challenge. Since the state has a rich manufacturing textile industry, the elimination involved the chefs letting their true colors shine. They needed to create a colorful dish that utilized at least two forms of natural food dyes. Hopefully the use of color would amplify the food and the dining experience in general.

It was another stressful week in the kitchen with many missing the mark, not to mention an injury scare and time management issues. There wasn’t as much movement considering the number of bottom finishers. Let’s see where everyone stands with our week three Top Chef Power Rankings.
