Previously on Top Chef, many contestants struggled in the elimination challenge. However, a new week is a new chance to make a positive impression in the kitchen. Would anyone be able to bounce back?
The quickfire took flight in the state where the first successful airplane launch took place. The chefs drew knives to determine a type of wine they would be pairing with their dish. They then separated into teams where they had to create a food flight that paired with a white wine, a red wine, and a rosé wine. The foundation of each flight needed to revolve around a same dish or ingredient, but with each one distinct.
Afterwards, the competitors were served a variety of Southern staple side dishes cooked by chef Greg Collier. For this week’s elimination challenge, they had to turn one of the side dishes they sampled into a main dish. Not only did they have to serve the judges, but they also needed to make enough food for an additional 40 hungry diners.
When it was all said and done, Top Chef eliminated another contestant. Check out the risers and fallers in our latest Power Rankings. This week also marked the return of Last Chance Kitchen.
