Exclusive: ‘Spider-Man Long Way Home’ #2 reveals Punisher with the Cosmic Cube and a brutal jungle hunt

With Hulk closing in and Spider-Man entering the fight, Frank Castle becomes the most dangerous target in a three-way battle for ultimate power.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Long Way Home continues this July, and AIPT has an exclusive first look at the cover and solicitation details for issue #2.

A deadly hunt escalates

Spider-Man: Long Way Home #2 raises the stakes as Frank Castle finds himself alone in the jungles of South America, in possession of the Cosmic Cube and hunted on all sides. Hulk is already on the trail after wiping out Frank’s squad, while Spider-Man enters the scene under orders from S.H.I.E.L.D. to secure the Cube.

What begins as a pursuit quickly turns into something far more dangerous, as both Spider-Man and Hulk discover that Frank Castle is not an easy target.

The Spider-Man: Long Way Home story so far

Written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Adam Kubert, the five-issue series throws Spider-Man, the Punisher, and Hulk into a three-way conflict over one of the most powerful objects in the Marvel Universe. Set outside core continuity, the story allows the creative team to explore a darker, more self-contained take on these characters.

The setup places the trio in a time before their legacies are fully formed. Frank Castle is still emerging, Hulk is more myth than reality, and Peter Parker is caught in the middle as competing agendas collide. Each believes they are the one who can be trusted with the Cube, setting the stage for a brutal and unpredictable clash.

What’s next in Spider-Man: Long Way Home

The issue continues to build toward a violent confrontation as alliances shift and the dangers of the Cosmic Cube become impossible to ignore.

Hickman teased the scale of what’s coming. “I’m so happy to be working with Adam Kubert again and even happier that we’re getting to work on SPIDER-MAN: LONG WAY HOME,” he said. “Absolutely no one is going to see this one coming.”

Kubert shared that same enthusiasm. “Jordan [D. White] barely got the words out before I yelled “Yes!” to SPIDER-MAN: LONG WAY HOME,” Kubert said. “A five-issue Hickman saga with Spidey, Hulk, and Punisher? Total no-brainer. With Frank Martin making the mayhem pop! Just Make Mine Marvel!”

Spider-Man: Long Way Home #2 arrives in comic shops on July 22. You can preorder the first issue until May 4th, and it will be out in comic shops on June 17th.
