Patrick Horvath’s Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees became one of comics’ biggest breakout horror hits, blending charming woodland animals with shocking acts of violence. After selling more than 400,000 comics and collections and earning critical acclaim, the franchise continues to grow with a new Halloween-themed special featuring an all-star lineup of creators.
Arriving this October, Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Halloween Special brings together Horvath alongside acclaimed writers and artists James Tynion IV and Tyler Boss, Tony Fleecs and Dave Wachter, Che Grayson and Matt Emmons, and Jared Cullum.
The announcement comes as Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring continues its awards-season momentum, currently nominated for the Eisner Award for Best Limited Series.
Rather than focusing solely on Samantha Strong, the new one-shot expands the world of Woodbrook through a collection of original tales. The special centers on the town’s adorable residents gathered around a campfire, each taking a turn sharing frightening stories as Halloween approaches.
The format gives some of today’s most celebrated horror and comics creators an opportunity to leave their mark on Horvath’s unsettling universe while exploring new corners of the world that readers have embraced since the original series debuted.
