Rob Liefeld’s return to Youngblood is off to a strong start.
Image Comics has announced that Youngblood #100 has sold out at the distributor level, prompting a fast-tracked second printing as part of Liefeld’s ongoing “Summer of Youngblood” initiative. The milestone issue marks a major chapter in the franchise that helped launch Image Comics and reshape the comic book industry in the early 1990s.
The second printing will feature three new cover options.
Cover A showcases a lineup of independent comics standouts viewed through Chapel’s gun sights, including Invincible by Cory Walker, D’orc by Brett Bean, Feral’s Elsie by Trish Forstner, and Fireborn by Patrick Mulholland. Cover B shifts the focus to Ghost Machine characters, featuring Rook by Jason Fabok, Geiger by Gary Frank, Hyde Street’s Mr. X-Ray by Ivan Reis, and Hornsby & Halo’s Rose by Peter Snejbjerg. Both covers are colored by Brad Anderson.
A third option arrives in the form of a black-and-white sketch cover, complete with empty gun sights designed for convention sketches, signatures, or custom artwork.
The sellout arrives ahead of the next major chapter in the revival, Badrock #1, which launches next month as the expanded Youngblood universe continues to grow.
Liefeld celebrated the strong response from retailers and readers while teasing more projects on the horizon.

Fans hoping to secure a first printing may want to check with local comic shops soon, while readers who missed out will have another opportunity when the second printing arrives.
Youngblood #100, second printing, will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, July 8.
