PANICK Entertainment and Rocketship Entertainment have announced The Accessories #1, a new horror comic from creators David Dastmalchian and Leah Kilpatrick, arriving in comic shops on August 5, 2026.
Blending psychological horror, classic monster mythology, and dark comedy, the series imagines what happens when the loyal assistants behind horror’s most infamous monsters decide they’ve had enough. Instead of serving Dracula, Dr. Jekyll, and other legendary terrors, Igor, Renfield, and Mrs. Hyde walk away from their masters and set out to survive on their own.
That proves easier said than done.
With angry villagers, determined monster hunters, and furious former employers all in pursuit, the unlikely trio forms an awkward band of antiheroes. They’ll need every trick they’ve learned from years of serving monsters if they hope to stay alive. Fortunately, they know exactly where to find a few extra body parts when the situation calls for it.
“The Accessories represents exactly the kind of bold, creator-first horror storytelling PANICK was built to deliver to the world,” said PANICK Entertainment publisher Kris Longo. “David, Leah and Patrick have created something deeply human, frightening, and visually unforgettable. Partnering with the amazing folks at Rocketship allows us to bring this book to retailers and horror fans everywhere with the kind of passion and support the series deserves.”
Dastmalchian said the series draws from a more personal place than readers might expect.
“For Leah and I, this story comes from a place of obsession with the strange things we carry emotionally and physically throughout our lives,” Dastmalchian said. “The Accessories is horror rooted in trauma, identity, and the monsters we invite into our lives. We’re thrilled to finally unleash it alongside PANICK and Rocketship.”
Kilpatrick added that seeing the project come together has been especially rewarding.
“This project has been incredibly personal for us creatively, and seeing it come together with such an amazing team has been surreal,” Kilpatrick said. “From the artwork to the covers to the support behind the scenes, The Accessories has become exactly the kind of horror comic we always hoped to make.”
The debut issue also features a lineup of collectible variant covers by Lukas Ketner, Tim Seeley, Matthew Seaborne, and Joel Herrera, whose series pays tribute to classic monster movie posters.
Dastmalchian had particular praise for Ketner, who previously collaborated with him on Count Crowley: Reluctant Midnight Monster Hunter.
“Working with Lukas Ketner has been one of the great joys of my creative journey,” Dastmalchian said. “It’s an exciting moment for me to see Lukas capture the visual world of something I created with Leah in his stunning covers. Each and every piece of art that he’s sent us has left our jaws on the floor.”
Kilpatrick echoed those sentiments, praising Ketner’s attention to detail and world-building.
“He brought everything we admire most about him: his precision, his strong point of view, and his ability to make a world feel fully lived in,” she said. “Issue One’s cover has the enormous responsibility of setting the tone for everything lurking inside, and Lukas gave the series a pulse before anyone even turned the page.”

The Accessories #1 goes on sale August 5, 2026. Retailers have until June 29 to place final orders through Lunar Distribution and Universal Distribution.
