The Great Beer Survey: A Taste of SE: NYC 2014

As I strolled through Artist Alley this past weekend at Special Edition: NYC, the inaugural New York Comic Con adjunct devoted strictly to comic books, I felt compelled to poll as many of the 300 talented creators present as I could on the most important topic dividing Americans today.

Presented below in no particular order are these writers’ and artists’ answers to the burning question, “What’s your favorite beer?”

Listen to the latest episode of our weekly comics podcast!

Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy): “Alpine, an east coast Canadian beer. I also like Guinness.”

Scott Bachman (Our Super Mom, Hardcase): Guinness

Randy Gentile (NYComix, Dimeshow Comix): Blue Moon

Todd Emko (A Piggy’s Tale, founder of Darwin Animal Doctors veterinary care): Coopers Sparkling Ale

Ethan Young (Tails, A Piggy’s Tale): Southern Tier IPA

Will Wiggins (Black Oni podcast): Hoegaarden, although he’s drawn the logo for Virginia brewpub Frozen Ape BreWorks, and they will in return brew a beer named for Black Oni.

Guinness seems to have won the day, but will it be so lucky at NYCC in October? More to come from Special Edition: NYC right here next week!
