San Diego Comic Con “Injustice 2” Reveals

While San Diego Comic Con was overwhelmed by DC announcements for their films, television shows and comics, room 6DE also revealed more details for the upcoming new game and sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us.

In the hour long panel, it was revealed that Injustice 2 storyline will take place years after the first Injustice and, similar to the first phase, will be accompanied by a comic series written by Tom Taylor that will bridge the gap between the first and second game. Before that panel, the only characters who had been confirmed were: Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Aquaman, The Flash, Gorilla Grodd, and Atrocitus. However, it wasn’t long before the audience was introduced to the next two characters to make the list via video clip featured below.

While the initial image of Wonder Woman took peoples breath away, it was the reveal of Blue Beetle who caused a deafening cheer from the audience which lasted until the end of the video. Director Ed Boon then followed the video by reassuring the audience that Blue Beetle won’t be the only fan favorite to make the casting cut. In fact, Boon stated that “…if you guessed ten characters who would be in the game, you could probably guess six of them” which is certainly reassuring for those who are looking for more B and C list superheroes to be featured.

So who else may make the list? While Boon refused to give any other characters away, he did tease the inclusion of Red Hood and possibly some members of the Suicide Squad. While the first game included Harley Quinn and Deadshot in the background of a map, it would make sense for the squad to take a more prominent role in conjunction with the upcoming film.

I personally would love to see Swamp Thing or Plastic Man. Who would you like to see featured?
