While we all recover from the awesomeness that is Gold Balls, Miles recovers from the broken ribs he got courtesy of Hammerhead…who is still very angry.

- I know this is just a dream sequence, but I would read the heck out of a Ganke superhero comic.

The Verdict
This was a hard issue to get a handle on. There are multiple interactions with different characters, all of which are great. Unfortunately, they just sort of…trail off.
I get that Bendis can’t give away everything that’s going to happen, but stuff like Jefferson getting cryptic relationship advice from a shadowy figure deserves a bit more explanation. Also, the end of the issue doesn’t address one of the big plot points it brought up at the beginning (beyond a few random text messages). And
don’t get even me started on the character who goes missing. That’s a really big deal, but we don’t get a hint of reason/resolution for it beyond a gag.
All that being said, I really enjoyed the way Oscar Bazaldua drew all the intimate interactions this issue’s script called for, particularly the one between Jefferson and Rio (which absolutely tore my heart out). And despite my complaints about the narrative trailing off, Bendis continues to develop what is turning out to be one of
the very best supporting casts in comics.
Now let’s hope we get to see Miles and the rest of them move things forward next month.
