The second Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer just hit and fans can be that much more excited for what is to come December 15th. Ticket sales are now open for preorder too so jump on that. The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson may have urged some fans to ‘absolutely avoid’ the trailer, but dammit, how can we resist?
Check out the full trailer below:
We’ve had a lot of time to get ourselves in trailer viewing mode since way back on September 19th — Mark Hamill let slip the second trailer would premiere October 9th in a now-deleted tweet:
Talk about a trailer that’ll get you talking. Is it possible some of it is misleading us? Probably so, but the most important take away appears to be how Snoke and Kylo Ren are attempting to pull Rey to the dark side. Heck, even Luke is scared of her! The trailer featured lots of battles on land and in space (dogfights yes!), interesting looking aliens, and plenty of dramatic close-ups of our favorites Luke and Leia.
There’s a lot to unpack with this one, but here are our snap reactions screen by screen:

Great look at the AT-M6 walkers.

Anyone else notice the Stormtroopers have flashlights on their guns?

Now that’s a great use of widescreen. Can’t wait to see her use it!

Getting some ‘Lord of the Rings’ vibes from this shot. Is Rey questing?

This seems to show Rey is gaining control of the lightsaber.

Mark Hamill appears to be playing Luke in hesitant sort of way. Possibly due to be isolated for too long?

Awww yeah, space action baby!

Just seeing Carrie Fisher brings a tear to my eye. I hope she’s badass in this!

Nice to see the in ship controlls are remaining true to the originals.

Kylo Ren sporting some interesting bandaids? If they are covering his wounds that might suggest this takes place pretty soon after The Force Awakens.

Cute explosion activate!

Poe can throw some mean shade. The dude appears to be always in front of a baddie to question him.

Phasma vs. Finn looks to be a climactic moment. Will Phasma (or Finn!?) lose their lives?

Supposedly Phasma’s armor was salvaged from a Naboo yacht that had once belonged to Emperor Palpatine.

It looks like BB-8 was hit with an EMP.

These ice wolves seem to suggest Disney is willing to flesh out the creatures we see in the films.

Is that Luke doing a Yoda impression?

No matter what you call yourself if you’re the bad guys you gotta display all your cool s--t.

It’s official. The CGI flesh is looking real, especially here on Snoke.

Come to the dark side! Major Empire vibes here as the heroes don’t seem to be winning.
With so much to unpack and chew on tell us your thoughts in the comments! We’ve got plenty of time since Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters in America December 15, 2017.
