As John Cusack has been acting since the 1980s, there’s a good chance you’ve loved at least one of his films, and an even better chance you’ve adored several. Say Anthing…, Bullets Over Broadway, Grosse Point Blank, Con Air, High Fidelity, Being John Malkovich… the list of classic Cusack flicks is endless.
But, where are the comic book franchises?
As Cusack was appearing at Rhode Island Comic Con, it was only fitting that I ask for his opinion on superhero films. During the “Celebrating the Career of John Cusack” panel, I asked if the actor had ever been approached about being in a superhero film, and if not, would he be open to doing one.
While Cusack’s immediate response was nobody’s asked him, he remembered he had been approached once before.
“It seemed like the people making it were a little too precious with the script.”
Cusack didn’t say what superhero film, specifically, he was referring to. But as for the future…
“Sure, I’m open to anything.”
What do you think? Would you want to see Cusack join the Marvel or DC cinematic universes? And if so, who should he play?
