Sombra makes Reaper her puppet in Overwatch’s new emotes

Check out a few of the new emotes coming to Overwatch next week.

The new cosmetic update to Overwatch goes live in just 4 days on January 23rd. So as we painstakingly count down the hours, minutes and seconds until it goes live, Blizzard adds yet another carrot to the string to keep us going.

Yesterday, we got a look at the stunningly gorgeous new legendary Pharah skin, Asp-Pharah. Today, we get a glimpse of three new emotes featuring Sombra, Mercy, Genji, Tracer and Moira. This may come as no surprise to you, but pssst, they’re really really cool. Thanks to the official Overwatch twitter account you can take a look for yourself.

“Everything can be hacked… and everyone.”

Sombra is the first emote revealed and is easily the best out of the five. The hacker’s newest emote has her dangling poor Reaper by puppet strings. Next up is Genji with sword drawn, pulling off a corkscrew back-flip that ends with him twirling his sword before sheathing it. Mercy twirls her staff looking all cute and sweet, then suddenly swishes it into a battle stance. Last but not least Tracer juggles her guns with a burst of speed and Moira displays the most “Seriously dude?!” expression I’ve seen out of a character yet.

You may have noticed Tracer and Moira weren’t included in the video. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

Next week’s Overwatch patch brings over a hundred new cosmetic items, including skins, sprays, player icons, emotes and more. All the new items will be available in standard Loot Boxes. Be sure to check back with us for more updates on Overwatch.
