‘Wonder Woman’ was the biggest Oscar snub at 2018 Academy Awards according to Fandango survey

Did Wonder Woman get snubbed at the Oscars?

Despite the film’s critical acclaim and financial success, Wonder Woman was conspicuously left absent with regards to Oscar nominations at the 2018 Academy Awards.

And according to a recent survey by Fandango, fans aren’t happy about it.

“Moviegoers are shocked that ‘Wonder Woman’ was unable to land a single Oscar nomination,” said Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “According to the online survey (of more than 1,000 moviegoers), 39% of moviegoers point to the virtual shutout of ‘Wonder Woman’ in all Oscar categories as the Academy’s biggest snub.”

The full list of snubs, per Fandango:

Biggest Oscar Nomination Snubs, According to Moviegoers:

“Wonder Woman” shut out in all categories (39%)

James Franco (“The Disaster Artist”), Best Actor (10%)

Tom Hanks (“The Post”), Best Actor (9%)

Jessica Chastain (“Molly’s Game”), Best Actress (7%)

Martin McDonagh (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”), Best Director (6%)

Sure, Oscar nominations aren’t everything, but according to the same survey, “57% of fans claim that when a film wins an Oscar nomination, they are even more interested in seeing it.” Which could be good news for those of you who were on the fence about The Boss Baby.
