The Handmaid’s Tale, Hulu’s harrowing series based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel, returns on April 25th with season 2. While the first season covered the events of the novel, season 2 is entering uncharted territory.
Season 1 was critically acclaimed, earning eight Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, and two Golden Globes including Best Series – Drama. It tells the story of a dystopian, highly religious society where women capable of conception are rare, and the ones who can reproduce are taken in by rich families to act as a surrogate mother and nothing more.
