Rorschach’s identity is revealed in ‘Doomsday Clock’ #4

It’s definitively revealed who is Rorschach under the mask.

SPOILERS ahead. You’ve been warned.

Doomsday Clock #4 has definitively identified who the new Rorschach is and it’s got us reading back issues. I speculated it was Bernie, and then later I was stumped when we got a few more details about Reggie, but now it’s made certain. Frustratingly, the identity of Rorschach was staring us all in the face from the get-go. In this Rorschach-focused issue, we get a key flashback with Reggie watching TV with his parents.

Who is Malcolm Long? Why, he’s the psychiatrist who handled the original Rorschach’s analysis when he was committed of course. Later in the issue it’s all but confirmed:

This information makes Reggie’s perspective on past and future acts of Adrian Veidt (aka Ozymandias) and Rorschach all the more intriguing. Not only had his father hoped he could cure Rorschach, but Veidt is the reason for his parent’s death when he unleashed the alien in New York. On top of this we find out Reggie endured the alien monster’s psychic attack and lived, which explains why he’s lost his mind.
