Movies to look forward to in April

There’s still one month until the Hollywood summer season begins, but there are still some great movies coming out this month.

April 6th

A Quiet Place (Nationwide): This one has been pushed back a few times and probably for the better. If it were released earlier in the year it would have been forgotten already thanks to Black Panther’s dominance. This horror film directed by John Krasinski is already getting great reviews.

Chappaquiddick (Nationwide): The Kennedys are one of America’s most celebrated families and have been beset with tragedies. Chappaquiddick is the story of Ted Kennedy and the incident that changed his life and career.

Blockers (Nationwide): If the title was not enough, then the cast featuring Leslie Mann, John Cena, and Ike Barinholtz should tell you this movie is one of the less serious releases of the month.

You Were Never Really Here (Nationwide): The title is the only thing about this movie that is like Evangelion. Joaquin Phoenix stars as a veteran who rescues kidnapped girls.

April 13th

Rampage (Nationwide): What does a movie about giant monsters have to do with Friday the 13th? Nothing, before a May release was moved to April.

Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare (Nationwide): Now this seems like the perfect movie for a Friday the 13th. Blumhouse tends to deliver the goods and this movie looks no different.

Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero (Nationwide): A computer animated film about the most decorated dog in American history. What else is there to say?

April 20th

Super Troopers 2 (Nationwide): The original cult classic was released almost two decades ago and when you wait that long to release the sequel that means it is guaranteed to be good. Right?

April 27th

Avengers: Infinity War (Nationwide): There is an Amy Schumer movie coming out the same day, but chances are the latest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe should do okay at the box office.

The summer blockbuster season officially begins in May, but there may be a movie or two that leaves a  lasting impression on the box office.
