El Paso Comic Con 2018 preview: Fly your nerd flag high

This weekend’s El Paso Comic Con should be a fun event that caters to everyone.

El Paso Comic Con comes to El Paso this weekend and AiPT! will be there. This year boasts an impressive lineup, with members of Star Trek: The Next Generation, a Power Ranger, and an expert on the occult scheduled to be in attendance.

 Saturday

The first panel of the weekend will be artists Jae Lee and Brett Booth. Lee and Booth have prolific careers in the comic book industry which should make for an interesting panel.

There will also be two panels for fans who long for their childhood. Jason David Frank, who was the Green and White Power Ranger and Dante Basco, who played Rufio in Hook, will both have panels.

Arguably, the highlight of the day will be a panel featuring Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, and Marina Sirtis from Star Trek: The Next Generation. How many marriage proposals will Counselor Troi receive this weekend? Maybe this panel will provide an answer.

Saturday will also have voice actors from RWBY, a costume contest, and Jedi knowledge trials.

Sunday

Sunday will consist of various photo ops with many of Saturday’s guests, but there will also be some panels for those interested in the paranormal.

Ken Hudnall is an author and internet radio host who tackles conspiracies, UFOs, and the occult and will have his own panel Sunday afternoon. Sunday will also feature a panel known as Gribble Talk, in which King of the Hill’s Dale Gribble will discuss popular fan theories and conspiracies. The event will close with a pair of Star Wars costuming groups.
