Round 1 of Infinity Warfare: Who is the mightiest Avenger of all?

It’s a single-elimination tournament to see which of Marvel’s mighty Avengers would come out on top in an all out brawl!

Well, here we are. We’re only days away from the release of Avengers: Infinity War, a film that promises to be the grandest superhero smackdown of all time, and we’re all anticipating exactly who is going to square up with the nigh-unstoppable Thanos. Moreover, we’re all wondering who is going to make it out of that conflict alive? While we can talk about Disney contracts and narrative logic all day long, the real question may boil down to “Who exactly is the strongest Avenger?” It’s not a new query, and a lot of people have done a lot of qualitative research discussing power-levels and character capabilities to see who would would win this mighty melee. We here at AiPT! feel like there’s more fun in the debate, so we have created the Infinity Warfare bracket! Gathering 64 of the most famous Avengers from the team’s more than 60-year publication history into a single-elimination tournament, we’re looking to see who you, True Believer, feel is the absolute best of the best!

We’ve separated the combatants by specialties (with Captain America heading up the “Skilled Combatants” division; Hulk at the top of the “Powerhouse” division; Iron Man as the #1 seed for the “Science as a Weapon” division; and Thor leading the “Magic and Energy Manipulators” section) and paired them off at random. Who will come out on top? Check out the Bracket below and vote for your favorites here!
