Scott Trowbridge, a Walt Disney Imagineer and Creative Executive has announced that Disney’s newest parks Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open Summer of 2019 in Disneyland in Anaheim, California and late Fall 2019 in Walt Disney World, Orlando Florida.

If you don’t dress up as a Star Wars character, you shouldn’t be allowed in.
While we don’t have an exact date yet, this gives fans the opportunity to start planning their (very expensive) vacations now, which you’ll need to do if you plan on being there for the opening of either park. Summer is peak season for Disneyland, but late fall and early winter is a good time to visit Disney World, as attendance is a bit lower. I would still expect these parks to be mobbed as many Star Wars fans will gladly quit their jobs and pull their kids out of school to attend the opening.
For clarification, this does not necessary mean the Star Wars Resort will be opening alongside these parks as there is still no word on their progress. Scott did provide a teaser video of the parks concept with his announcement which you can watch below.
