Boston Uprising releases three players from their Overwatch League roster

Kalios, Snow and Avast are no long members of the team.

Overwatch League team Boston Uprising have announced the release of three players from their team contracts: Woo-Yul “Kalios” Shin, Connor “Avast” Prince and Mikias “Snow” Yohannes. The announcement comes via the team’s official Twitter account.

“Each of these players were a key part of our inaugural season and I want to thank them for their contributions and hard work,” said Chris “HuK” Loranger, President of Gaming for The Kraft Group. “We wish them the best of luck and look forward to seeing where they go from here.”

The Boston Uprising Twitter account displays individual letters for Kalios, Snow and Avast, written by Huk, thanking them for their contributions to the team.

Avast and Snow both played support roles, while Kalios played as a flex tank. With the release of these players Boston’s roster is down from ten to seven active players, with three of the seven being support. Boston has contract options on all players for the 2018-19 season.

As of Sep. 9, all remaining unsigned players will become free agents with the ability to negotiate with any Overwatch League team. Expansion teams have the option to sign free agents starting Sep. 9 until Oct. 7. Overwatch League free agency begins for all teams on Oct. 8 and all teams are required to have a minimum of eight players signed by Dec. 8.

We can expect more roster changes from Boston Uprising in the near future. At this time there’s no date yet available for the start of Overwatch League’s second season.
