Does Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s ongoing lawsuit reveal spoilers for ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8?

A lawsuit for Jaime Lannister’s actor may have revealed crucial info for the final season of Game of Thrones.

Warning: Potential spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8.

It’s said that a Lannister always pays his debts; the saying extended beyond the Game of Thrones universe and into the real world with recent news of Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s ongoing 1.75 million lawsuit with former manager, Jill Litman. Coster-Waldau owes Litman for an alleged breach of contract (according to a Harper’s Bazaar report).

Does Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's ongoing lawsuit reveal spoilers for 'Game of Thrones' season 8?

One silver lining (or added detriment, depending how you look at it) for the dispute is that it reveals what could be a potential spoiler for Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones‘ eighth and final season. Details of the case reveal that Coster-Waldau made $942,857 for each of the seven episodes he made for Season 7. In Season 8, he reportedly earned $1,066,667 per episode — a noticeable increase and a salary which contradicts previous reports that the Game of Thrones‘ stars all receive approximately $500,000 per episode. The documents also confirm Coster-Waldau appears in all six episodes of the final season (whereas prior reports indicated he would only appear in four).

Does this mean Jaime Lannister is making it all the way to the Game of Thrones season finale? In an August interview with The Huffington Post, Coster-Waldau had this to say about the season’s ending:

I wrote the writers when I finished reading and just said, ‘I don’t think you could’ve done a better job at finishing this story,'” he said. “To me, it was very satisfying but also very surprising and all the things that I was hoping for. It still made sense. It wasn’t like one of those where the killer is suddenly revealed in the last act and you go, ‘Oh! I didn’t see that coming.’ Here, they’ve done a really, really good job.”

Do you think Jaime Lannister’s character redemptive story arc will continue full circle into Season 8? Could Jaime be the fabled Azor Ahai, the legendary figure in the Lord of Light (R’hllor) mythos and not Jon Snow? Sound off in the comments.
