It all started with 64 mutants entering the arena. We’re talking powerhouses like Colossus and Rogue, strategists like Cyclops and Cable, and down and dirty brawlers like Wolverine and Sabretooth. But as X-Men moved from one round to the next, each of these fighters fell until only two were left: Jean Grey and Iceman.
But these two founding–and omega-level–X-Men didn’t stand a chance in this tournament without help from you, the voters. So, who did you think deserved to be the Last X-Man Standing?
Turns out it wasn’t an X-Man at all, but the first X-Woman–the one and only Jean “Phoenix” Grey! While Iceman breezed by the likes of Cyclops and Magneto, he just didn’t stand a chance against Jean’s uncanny psychic abilities–only receiving 20% of the vote to the former Phoenix’s 80% If you listen closely, you can hear Emma Frost rolling her eyes as Cyclops and Wolverine beam with pride.
