DC Universe’s ‘Stargirl’ casts Sportsmaster, Tigress and more

Family is the only thing more important to Sportmaster.

With the Justice Society forming over the last few weeks, it makes sense the Injustice Society would soon follow. According to Deadline, Joy Osmanski has been cast as Tigress in Stargirl. Recently, she played Alondra in Santa Clarita Diet.

Tigress is described as ‘protecting and providing for her family’ and ‘hunts the world’s most dangerous game – humans – as the Tigress’. Her real name is Paula Brooks. Currently, Jessica Lucas plays Tigress in Gotham.

Deadline also report Neil Hopkins will play Lawrence ‘Crusher’ Crock/Sportsmaster. He ‘sees his criminal targets as a game to win – and his competitors as targets to kill’. Family is the only thing more important to him than ‘the game’.

A unnamed version appeared in Season 4 of Arrow, but he most prominetly appeared in Young Justice, voiced by Nick Chinlund.

Nelson Lee has been cast as Dragon King, the mastermind who keeps his face concealed, as well as his past. As the description notes, he’s a ‘controversial scientist’ and ‘has been experimenting on himself and his victims since the 1940s’.

This is the first live action iteration of Dragon King, with him previously appearing in Young Justice.

Stargirl will debut on DC Universe in August 2019.
