Paramount developing Kyle Starks’ ‘Kill Them All’ graphic novel

Starks and Paramount are teaming up for a Miami bloodbath.

Eisner-nominated cartoonist Kyle Starks’ heart pumping graphic novel, Kill Them All, is being developed by Paramount Pictures into a live-action film. Variety first reported the news Monday of Starks’ project being optioned.

Described as a “love letter to 90s action movies,” the story follows a hard drinking former cop and betrayed murderess on their quest for revenge. Along the way they fight their way through 15 floors of criminals, assassins, drug lords, murderers, and accounts in a Miami high rise. The story was originally self-published in 2015, and was later republished in a full-color edition by Oni Press in 2017.

Paramount has hired James Coyne to adapt the story. He’s worked with the studio in the past when he sold them his action sci-fi pitch Cascade. Coyne also worked for Warner Bros. on Treasure Island and Sherlock Holmes 3.

This isn’t Starks first project to be optioned for film — Sexcastle, another one of his graphic novels, was nabbed by Fox and the Russo Brothers in 2016. Though the projects status isn’t clear at this time.
