‘Detective Pikachu’ trailer 2 has arrived

A more dangerous vibe and looks at many more Pokemon in this full-sized trailer.

With Pokemon Day looming tomorrow, Warner Bros. has decided to start celebrating early. On Feb. 26, Detective Pikachu‘s second trailer was dropped and a full one at that, unlike the brief TV spots that have been sporadically released over the past few weeks. Within the second trailer, we dive into more details of titular character, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, who is suffering from amnesia and is searching for the dad of Tim Goodman, played Justice Smith. The vibe implies a lot more action and danger, hinting at many forces at work, including ones from the original game the movie is based on.

The trailer shows off a lot more Pokemon in the foreground and background than the previous trailer, with shots of Flareon, Golurk, Snorlax, Pancham, and Ludicolo among many. Ken Watanabe is absent from the trailer, but more of Kathryn Newton is seen, investigating some sort of mysterious science facility.

Detective Pikachu is set to arrive May 10th and a few weeks before, the Detective Pikachu mini-expansion for the trading card game is set to arrive as well. While we all patiently wait for the movie, check out the newest poster released for the movie on the official Twitter account.
