Amazing Spider-Man is branching off into a “.HU” subcategory so as to tie-in to the “Hunted” storyline which might annoy some, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t interesting details and character progression. Case in point, issue #16.HU reveals a lot about Black Cat and Spider-Man’s relationship. The issue is largely focused on Black Cat as she attempts to do a job for Hammerhead. Along the way, we learn Spider-Man telling her who he is under the mask has opened up memories once lost thanks to Doctor Strange wiping the memories of everyone who knew Peter’s secret identity. This leads to some heartbreaking moments of the two being romantic and, so it appears, how physical their relationship was.
Early on we get to see a moment where the two are flirting and eventually ending up in bed.
Later in a huge turn of events it appears Spider-Man proposes to Black Cat!
Writer Nick Spencer keeps readers in suspense only to reveal inside the box was a spider-tracer and not a wedding ring. Peter Parker, you dope! As you might expect Black Cat was not happy with this.
This leads to a fight, of course, which leads Peter to reveal a detail about their sex life when they first met.
Okay, now that is kinky. One could argue she wanted him to keep the mask on because Black Cat was in love with Spider-Man and wanted the mask to stay on, or maybe it was about keeping their identities locked away in a box.
