Movies to look forward to in April

Did you know more than one movie is coming out in April?

Everyone knows about one movie that is coming out in April. Believe it or not, there are actually other movies that will be coming out during the month. And not all of them are based on comic books. Yes, April is the release of Hellboy, but here are the other movies in April we are looking forward to.

April 5

Shazam! (Nationwide): Sure, it was already released as part of an early access promotion. And yes, we already have a review on the site. This may be the best movie of the DCEU and is worth your time.

Pet Semetary (Nationwide): The first of two remakes of movies adapted from Stephen King books. The original is something of a classic so this version has a lot to live up. Wonder if there will be a 2019 version of the Ramones song.

Division 19 (Limited): In this dystopian movie, people pay to watch prisoners. When the world’s most downloaded prisoner escapes how will the country react?

The Best of Enemies (Nationwide): Based on the book of the same name, the unlikely story is about a civil rights activist and a KKK leader who co-chair a weekly community meeting. Boasts a very strong cast.

April 12

After (Nationwide): Based on the new adult novel of the same name, the story deals with a college student’s relationship with her rebellious boyfriend. When one of the leads is named Hero, you know you can’t go wrong.

Little (Nationwide): A ruthless businesswoman gets a chance to relive a pivotal part of her childhood again. If it sounds like Big, that’s because the Tom Hanks classic served as inspiration.

Hellboy (Nationwide): Any goodwill the movie previously had seems to have been ruined by some pretty lackluster trailers. It may end up being good, but will anyone remember by the end of the month?

William (Limited): Two doctors clone a caveman named William. The film deals with themes of isolation and acceptance.

MIssing Link (Nationwide): Stop motion animated movie with a strong voice cast that features Hugh Jackman and Zoe Saldana. The plot deals with an adventurer trying to locate a legendary creature.

April 17

Penguins (Nationwide): Documentary from Disneynature about the journey of a penguin. Steve tries to find a partner, build a home, and start his life. Promises to be well shot and fun for the family.

April 19

The Curse of La Llorona (Nationwide): The trailer is funny in all the wrong ways. The movie seems to lack any tension or horror and looks to be a series of jump scares. At least, it looks like a scary movie you can take your kids to see.

April 26

Avengers: Endgame (Nationwide): Once the tickets go on sale, this should set all sorts of records. There are so many questions leading into this finale to the Infinity War. This is the movie event of the year.
