Geena Davis Joins the Cast of GLOW

The Academy Award winning actress will lace up her wrestling boots for the Netflix original’s third season.

If you ever wanted to see Dottie Hinson bodyslam one of the Kenosha Comets, you may just get your chance, as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Geena Davis will be joining the cast of Netflix’s GLOW for its third season. The show announced the addition to its already talented lineup in a post on its official Twitter account.

Davis, who will soon lend her voice to the third season of another Netflix original (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power), will play Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, a showgirl-turned-entertainment director for the GLOW ladies’ new home Las Vegas, the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino. The actress joins returning cast members Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin and Marc Maron.

Though she’s best remembered for films such as Thelma and Louise and A League of Their Own, Davis has made a considerable mark on the small screen as well, including notable roles on Grey’s Anatomy, The Exorcist and Commander in Chief. It’s unclear if Davis will be stepping into the ring with Sheila “the She Wolf” or Machu Picchu, but given that the Mensa member almost made it to the olympics in 2000, perhaps we’ll see “Madame President” team up with Liberty Belle before long.

The third season of GLOW premiers on Netflix August 9.
