June 21, 2019 marks the first day of summer. To celebrate the summer solstice A24 released a new trailer for director Ari Aster’s Midsommar. Aster directed 2018’s critically acclaimed Hereditary.

The marketing for Midsommar has already been unique. Earlier this month, posters for the movie were released. The art looked like festival posters similar to Coachella that included dates and events.
The newest trailer for Midsommar is similar to previous ones. There are quick cuts that do not give a real sense of going on. It is summer, there is a festival, and things are not going as ideally as one would like a trip to a summer festival to go. Warning! Though there is not any context to anything in the trailer, it may give more information than some people want to know.
Midsommar released nationwide July 3rd.
