Saw films, which involve the mutilation of victims at the whim of the sadistic Jigsaw, is getting a reboot. Samuel L. Jackson is set to star in the newest Saw, the ninth installation in the franchise.
Jackson is no stranger to the horror genre. He has starred in films like Snakes on a Plane! and Deep Blue Sea. Jackson’s star power has been continuously on the rise for decades. Most recently audiences can find him in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Saw is scheduled to start filming next week. In the director’s chair is Darren Lynn Bousman, veteran director of Saw II and a few others in the franchise. Also starring is Chris Rock, executive producer of the film, who conceived the idea for the reboot. The film will be written by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg.
Marisol Nichols and Max Minghella will also be joining the cast. The film will be released in theaters October 23, 2020.
