Watch: New trailer for ‘His Dark Materials’

New trailer for ‘His Dark Materials’ has been released.

The new trailer for the BBC and HBO production of His Dark Materials was released at the San Diego Comic-Con and it looks beautiful. Fans of the Phillip Pullman series will be surprised and delighted.

In 2007, a film adaptation of The Golden Compass was made. However, this did not quite live up to fan expectations. The new series looks grim, exciting, and does not shy away from the darker aspects of the novels.

The trailer ominously alludes to the gruesome dealings of those who follow the rule of the Authority, carried out most loyally by the Magisterium. There are also daemons in this trailer. Ms. Coulter’s (played by Ruth Wilson) golden monkey makes an appearance. Fans of the series will also be thrilled to see Iorek Byrnison, an armored warrior polar bar, ready for battle.

In addition to Wilson, the series stars James Mc Avoy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Dafne Keen as Lyra Bellacqua. The series airs this Fall.
