Chip Zdarsky, author of Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Life Story, Daredevil, and more has won an Eisner Award for Best Single Issue after being nominated for Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-Man #310 at this year’s San Diego Comic Con ceremony. He was nominated alongside Emily Carroll, Jeff Lemire and Emi Lenox, Carolyn Nowak, and Arabson and James Robinson in the category.
The issue, which features various talking head takes on Spider-Man from citizens that know and/or have interacted with him was widely considered one of the best last year, including on AiPT!’s very own year end ranking. We also asked Zdarsky about the issue in our recent interview with him for Spectacular Spider-Month where he said: “The funny thing is, I wrote and drew it as my way of saying goodbye to the character, but here I am on yet another Spidey project AND inserting him into my Daredevil book. Can’t shake the guy.”
This is one of two nominations for Zdarsky tonight, the other being for Best Writer which went to Tom King for his work on Batman and Mister Miracle.
