The Star Wars fanbase is rapturous after the latest Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker reveal and one moment that was perhaps more indelible than the rest was the intriguing glimpse of what appeared to be Rey, the trilogy’s protagonist, wielding a red, double-sided lightsaber a la Darth Maul.
Although Joanie Brosas hasn’t gone full Sith in this cosplay, she looks so much like Rey we had to do a double take — just like we did with the trailer.

Rey is a scavenger who was left on the planet Jakku by her parents (who are still unknown at this point in the trilogy) when she was a child. She was pulled into the conflict against the First Order with Resistance pilot Poe Dameron and ex-Stormtropper Finn after a chance(?) meeting with droid BB-8.
