The first teaser trailer for Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 was unveiled Saturday afternoon during the Discovery panel at New York Comic Con.
Fans in attendance at Madison Square Garden were treated with never-before-seen footage of the upcoming third season, which jumps 930 years into the future from the Season 2 timeline. The teaser trailer is available to enjoy below.
The second season finale left fans on a cliff hanger, as the U.S.S. Discovery and its crew jumped into a wormhole to an unknown future. We now know they’ve exited the wormhole into a timeline nearly a thousand years into the future. The series will premiere in 2020, exclusively on CBS All Access.
In attendance at the panel were cast members Sonequa Martin-Green (Commander Michael Burnham), Doug Jones (Acting Captain Commander Saru), Anthony Raoo (Lt. Commander Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Ensign Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), and David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker). Also present was executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, and Michelle Paradise.
During the panel Kurtzman revealed the next installments of STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS will begin rolling out today, Oct. 5, the first of which, “Q&A,” is available to stream now via All Access. Written by Michael Chabon and directed by Mark Pellington, “Q&A” follows Ensign Spock’s (Ethan Peck) first day aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, which doesn’t go as planned when he and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) are unexpectedly stuck together in a turbo lift.
